Biography

Zurab Zurabishvili was born on September 1, 1973 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

1988-1994 voice study at Tbilisi Conservatory.
1994 voice study at Mozarteum Salzburg with Prof. Martha Sharp.
June 2002, diploma with excellence and Master Of Arts.
Master classes with Bernd Weikl and Sherrill Milnes in Salzburg, Laurenne Nubar in Nizza, Paata Burchuladze in Salzburg and private study with Riccardo Lombardi.
Since october 2002 private study in vocal technique, interpretation and acting with Hanna Ludwig, professor emeritus at the University Mozarteum Salzburg.

2003 Winner of the Austrian Prize Honor.
2005 Two-time winner of the 11. „Ferruccio Tagliavini“ International Voice Competition.

2003-2006 Engagement Theater Augsburg.
2006/07 member of Staatstheater Darmstadt.
Since 2010/11 Engagement Aalto Musiktheater Essen.

Concert appearances i.a.: Staatlichen Shambyl-Philharmonie Alma-ata, Theater Chemnitz, Theater Erfurt, Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, Oper Graz, Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz München, Schloss Neuschwanstein, Staatstheater Saarbrücken, Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg (Salzburger Kulturtage), Staatsoper Tbilisi, Teatro Regio Turin and Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar.
